Have you ever wished you could enter a book?

"I know," she said. "But in different ways. I'm willing to change to fit in here. You're going to force the Academy to change to fit you." - Lynne to Kirk

Summary from Goodreads.com
A new Starfleet Academy series for teens—filled with romance and adventure! In The Competitive Edge, Kirk finds out how much of a toll the intense training classes and grueling schedule of academy life is taking on all the cadets, including himself. But some recruits seem better equipped to handle the challenges. Is there something that is giving them an edge? Kirk is determined to find out, especially since one of the cadets with a little something extra is his new girlfriend.

A little about my review of the book can be found here.  I'm going to update that review some time this week.

Now, have I ever wished I could enter a book? Yes, many times just like the kid from the Neverending Story movie!  I think it's in everyone's mind once in a while and  that it will  never cease to be boring. ♥☺  So when I had my copies of the New Starfleet Academy books  the daydream was  awakened again. ☺

Along with that came with thinking of who will portray the characters as I flipped through the page.  Since the book used Mr. JJ Abrams reboot model, we already have a picture of Kirk, Bones, Spock, and Uhura.  Here are my  supporting ones  as follows:

Cadet Lynne Morgan could be portrayed by Scarlett Johansson after seeing her performance in Iron Man 2.   Cadet Morgan appeared as a determined young woman, adventure-seeker,  intelligent with certain gray areas about  'enhancements.'

Cadet Jackson could be portrayed by Ken Baumann. He's a cadet from the Lunar colony and one of the three cadets who took the forbidden 'enhancements.' He was also Thanas' (an Andorian) roommate.

Dr. Griffin can be portrayed by Bruce Davidson, a senior Starfleet Academy doctor who held good intentions but was led astray by his colleague.

Captain Warde  can be portrayed by Leonor Varela, a no-nonsense Head of Security in Starfleet Academy, who seems to have a knack in pruning the hedges as quickly as possible before they start to obscure the big picture. Woah, if Isis will be remade, Ms Leonor Varela can take on Andrea Thomas, the archaeologist who discovers an amulet. P.S. I barely remembered Isis and it just the wonder of Internet and mom's recall that helped me jogged the very scant reminders of the show such as this quote:

Oh Zephyr Winds which blow on high, lift me now so I can fly!
