Phoenix Rising TV (Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future) Live-Tweet Part 3

Part Three

Music on Phoenix Rising

Mr. Gary Guttman also tweeted whether we wanted to hear orchestra or electronic? I was too late to show my 'hand' since my Twitter page kept freezing but reading it now, it was mix between orchestra and electronic. I think both can be a good move.

Looks like the first arc will run the whole of Season 1

Skywatch Friday : Moon and Sun

More posts here.

This was part of the shots I took previous of our celestial neighbor. I guess that even my not-so high tech camera managed to pull some features and it was kind of cool to get one for my own. :D

The sun's disk

I was taking another test of the sun and somehow, posting here and viewing it separately in a pic viewer didn't come out as expected. The barely there disk of the sun was a little visible in the pic viewer. It was fascinating that a morning shot came out like it was nearing dusk. I thought the electrical post was giving some sentinel vibe.  :D

[Review] Voltron Force 2011 "The New School Defenders" Part 1

Voltron Force 2011

IMDB link

I'm sure if anyone still remembers the 1980s cartoon show Voltron,  but in this new series, eight years have passed since the events transpired from the first show. The gist, King Zarkon was defeated and Lotor was killed. Voltron was hailed triumphant until Sky Marshall Wade, a corrupt, Galaxy Alliance officer made sure the lions went rogue thus decommissioned. This begins the springboard of the first of the three-parter starting with

The New School Defenders
Written by Todd Garfield
Directed by John Delaney
Story by Todd Garfield and Jeremy Corray
Supervising Director Steven E. Gordon

Summary:
Flight academy cadets, Daniel and Vince gets a chance meet one of their Voltron heroes, Cmdr. Lance McClain after he singled them out for speaking out of turn in class in wanting to know about Voltron and the members. It was all Daniel spouting about Voltron and Vince was in for the ride for being guilty "by association" as Lance puts it.

It was  a long standing order by Sky Marshall Wade that any mention of Voltron was grounds for a summary expulsion. When the two cadets finally learn the whole covert nature of Lance, Pidge and Hunk while maintaining to be the epitome of great soldiers, Vince and Daniel were immediately tasked to switch the keys found on Wade's uniform. Soon, half the mission was underway and Keith broke Black Lion out from Wade's military complex.

Review
Me? What did I do? [Vince]
Guilt by association. [Lance]
When I first show the episode, I was quite excited and was really glad the premise of the show was set eight years after the events where the 1980's show left off. I really wasn't looking forward for a re-make.

OncerChallenge: If you could name a future Once in a Time episode, what would it be?

I thought I keep a list of the titles so far. It was a cool challenge. Can you guess what fairy tale I was revolving around just by the title names? :)

  1. Swan Crossing
  2. A Grimm Night
  3. Fire and Ice
  4. P.P.
  5. Shadow in Us
  6. Gold vs Piper
  7. Minstrel Gone
  8. Bring Me to Life -> okay, this may sound that familiar song but I'll see if I can change it later after I've thought more about this fairy tale :D
Well, I think eight titles would be a great start.

Music Monday: "Feel This Moment" By Pitbull feat Christina Aguilera

I don't know if I like the song or not. Sure, it does make you take the dance floor and definitely, helps get those house chores done since they're not getting done by themselves but do you also hear another familiar song within this track? :D It threw me off when I heard the familiar riff. Let's take a stroll down to memory lane....

First up, back in the late end of the '90's,British-Norwegian group, a1 offered this wonderful re-make of....

Of course, A-Ha -Take On Me,  the original back in 1986 captured the imagination of the next generation of film makers, giving us other cool stuff we see in the movies today.  :)

Skywatch Friday: Claw the Moon Away

This was taken last week and I had the chance to upload. I didn't expect that night would give me a shot like this.  I was using the max range of the camera's lens. This turned out to be creepy shot that I almost let go of my camera.

Can you turn this logline from Edward Saxon...

We've heard of flash fiction that deals by writing a short based from the picture selected for the week, just like what I've done for Fiction Friday Flash several... okay, last flash fiction done was well over a year go. I hope I'll get back to it. :D Anyway, here's perhaps a version from a screenwriter's world - flash logline (for the sake of description). Good luck with your spec scripts!

Music Monday: Leave it all to Shine by Miranda Cosgrove and Victoria Justice

I caught up some iCarly re-airs last week even though I sporadically follow the show, I was familiar with Miranda Cosgrove  from "The School of Rock" as the class music manager. That was one kewl movie.  I wish that one had a sequel.

I thought of re-joining this one. :D Check out other entries too here.

Music Monday: Give Me A Reason by Pink feat Nate Ruess

There are times I can really like my local radio for bringing in some good tunes and sometimes, not so much. I guess it all depends on who's manning the air stream. I don't have a particular radio dj favorite but when they concocted a new show, (the title has escaped me), it was great they've revamp things in their programming skeds.

Fun with Pulp-o-mizer

I wanted to jolt my muses for the ongoing project my friend, jazzontherocks and I are working on and so I took a stab in playing with Pulp-o-mizer cover generator last week.

It was quite fun playing around with the cover match ups and there was something I've only found out today, Pulp-o-mizer has two stories up on their site. The first one was an interactive story called "Trapped in the Tower with the Brain Thieves Part One: The Toaster with Two Brains and the second tale was a serialized story called "It came from Pulp-o-Mizer" which are actually the collection of covers made through the site. There were no stories included in the second section as I've previously thought.

I began to check "The Toaster with Two Brains" story since the beginning piqued my interest. I found two links right at the end of the section that stated follow Nate's adventure or follow Gwen. I was immediately sent back to those "Choose Your Adventure" books I once found at my  school library. While it was quite exciting to choose your own, I felt when I read books in this format, I have the gnawing feeling I was missing the rest of the story because I have no idea during the many options I've selected, I'd be able to see again the other characters in the story unless circumstances, intersect at the middle again and the lead protagonist (the one I usually hit the follow button) meets up with the characters.

Do you also like "Choose your Adventure" books?

Thursday Challenge: Best of 2012 Events

Well for me, it was seeing a1 perform again after the band went to hiatus for 10 years and each member went on to do individual projects. Their first major comeback here in Asia was the Greatest Hits Tour along side with Blue and Jeff Timons of 98 Degrees. My friend and I were happy they re-formed and visited the country.
