So this is Pinterest *grinz*

I saw site years ago but never tried it because I was on several platforms and didn't see the real need until two weeks ago.

I had been noticing a lot of people were taking to Pinterest especially those I follow in Twitter and I don't know why it took Sleepy Hollow finale to galvanize me in checking this site out.

I dove in and built these boards.

Several of these don't have yet enough pin post but they will soon be like my Middle-earth fandom board, Where's the Angel board, The Tomorrow People, A1 and Sleepy Hollow.

Music Monday: "Feel This Moment" By Pitbull feat Christina Aguilera

I don't know if I like the song or not. Sure, it does make you take the dance floor and definitely, helps get those house chores done since they're not getting done by themselves but do you also hear another familiar song within this track? :D It threw me off when I heard the familiar riff. Let's take a stroll down to memory lane....

First up, back in the late end of the '90's,British-Norwegian group, a1 offered this wonderful re-make of....

Of course, A-Ha -Take On Me,  the original back in 1986 captured the imagination of the next generation of film makers, giving us other cool stuff we see in the movies today.  :)

Thursday Challenge: Best of 2012 Events

Well for me, it was seeing a1 perform again after the band went to hiatus for 10 years and each member went on to do individual projects. Their first major comeback here in Asia was the Greatest Hits Tour along side with Blue and Jeff Timons of 98 Degrees. My friend and I were happy they re-formed and visited the country.

Music Monday: 'GOODBYE HMV' - A Tribute to HMV (Parody of Elton John 'CANDLE IN THE WIND'

Last week I chanced upon (briefly) on the news that British retail giant HMV was going to face the music and went under administration. Soon #HMV was trending in Twitter world.  Hopefully, a middle ground could be found and jobs are kept. Veritably talented, Mark Read of a1 wrote quite succinctly what's been happening with the changing times. Hope this vid shows up before it's taken down.

I thought I take a different route this Monday and feature this one. It was cleverly put together in a given short of time.

[Album Review] Rediscovered by A1

Yay! A copy  (and copies to friends) which I was able to buy when the group visited Cebu in line of their benefit show for YoungLife Foundation Philippines, last November 23, 2012.

Last November 8th, a1 held a web chat with fans through VGG.net site where a fan wondered what was the story behind the title (Rediscovered) on their new album?
It's just about Rediscovering your youth and the things that got us into music in the first place
Ben, Mark, & Christian

Links to get the album:
CDON.com
iTunes
Amazon - coming soon on January 23, 2013  Get your copies. New stocks available. Not that I was watching it. hahah

The tracks:
Trust Me - the latest single taken from "Rediscovered" has this infectious '60s vibe were as the song rolled out, it looked like we're witnesses to another major meltdown and the guy was doing his best to explain his side of the story. The official video interestingly took a different route which was quite unexpected and a plus. The video presentation has a Fringe-type vibe going on that piqued my interest since it didn't go the cliché route (thank goodness). We've seen those versions for the Nth time of a girl throwing anything breakable to the wall just nearly missing the guy, right. :D

With my aunt
Christopher Columbus - The way the song opened with soft guitar riffs gave such a happy-go-lucky feel and I imagined the sun shining and I'm in a car with a window rolled down.  In fact, it reminded me of my visit to Road to Hana. I honestly don't remember if we were doing the "copy who" day pic since we both wore orange tees too. :D  What I remember was the roar of the surf beating below us and it was so windy! I had to clutch around that misshapen boulder and made sure when I sat I wasn't going to tumble off below. Haha. The view was b-r-e-a-t-h-t-a-k-i-n-g. I wish we could have stayed another hour or so just to take it all in but we had to leave to make it to the next tour attraction. :D

Riot - This song surprised me a lot. At first listen, it reminded me of "We are Young" by FUN yet the song breaks out from that familiarity and the melody powers through with its upbeat vibe which makes one dance. However as one reads the lyrics or listen closely to the words, it was about an impending all-hell-break-lose type of disagreement between a couple. The guy had done wrong only the girl barely gave hints to what made her furious and the guy knows the moment she does say her piece, it's going to be nuclear. It made me thought of a proverb in my country and it goes "Ang tao walang kibo, nasa loob ang kulo" (An individual who is outwardly calm has anger ranging inside). So yeah that's going to be a tricky situation to navigate through all right. Raise the white flag for several days and communicate... :D

Photo hunt: A glimpse of You

Today's theme was to answer the photo question mentioned above and I selected the last meet and greet session with a1 last November 2012 in Cebu. You can find the other entries here.

A glimpse of my back. haha
I would have put a red arrow on where I was but my PS application got corrupted and I haven't had a chance to re-install it. Anyway, I had finished my turn on the stage when this was taken by the mall's official photographer. I'm the girl wearing the violet top (looking down at my camera) standing beside the guy in green shirt. :D

Music Monday: After All It's Christmas by a1

I hope somewhere down the line, they'll release a Christmas compilation. This B-side was from "Another Year Gone," a winter edition to "Waiting For Daylight" album for Norway release.  While I was listening to this, I had Hallmark movies scenes in my mind and in fact, I even thought of an idea for a music video too. :D

"After All It's Christmas
by a1
I feel the joy in this Christmas time
But something's missing in this heart of mine
The choir sings that the season's here
I always miss you this time of year

It's crowded out in Trafalgar Square
But it feels so empty when you're not there
They're all waiting for snow to fall
But I'm just waiting for a miracle

Left my heart underneath the tree I believe
After all it's Christmas
Pray the lights lead you back to me
I believe after all it's Christmas Oh, Oh
I believe after all it's Christmas Oh, Oh
I believe after all it's Christmas time

If New Year comes and my gifts still there
The lights come down and the tree is bare
I'll keep it wrapped 'til December when
I'll place it under the tree again

I left my heart underneath the tree
I believe after all it's Christmas
Pray the lights lead you back to me

I believe after all it's Christmas Oh, Oh
I believe after all it's Christmas Oh, Oh
I believe after all it's Christmas time

Christmas morning finally
I run down stairs excitedly
Then to my surprise
I see the greatest gift in front of me

You left your heart underneath the tree
I believe after all it's Christmas
I guess the lights led you back to me
I believe after all it's Christmas oh, oh
I believe after all it's Christmas oh, oh
I believe after all it's Christmas oh, oh

You left your heart underneath the tree
I believe after all it's Christmas
I guess the lights led you back to me
I believe after all it's Christmas oh, oh
I believe after all it's Christmas oh, oh
I believe after all it's Christmas time

Music Monday: Trust Me by A1

This coming November 2, the group will be releasing their latest album called "Rediscovered" in Norway and I hope the rest of the world won't be far behind. :D Their latest single "Trust Me"  has a infectious beat about trust. As I listened more to the song, it appeared like we were in the middle of the story of what's happening between these two individuals. :D "Trust Me" is written by Mark Read, Thomas Kongshavn, Frida Amundsen and Knut Anders Sorum. The video was directed by Marcus Olsen.

This is their official music video of the song released October 27, 2012. Go check it out!

The 30-sec pre-listened was such a GREAT tease for us. I'm liking every track and "Star Lights" is a track that caught my attention. Heck, all of them. :) I can't wait to get a copy of the album. I'm hoping that they'll be releasing it here in the Philippines when they come over for the benefit show in Cebu in line with YoungLife Healthcare and Education Foundation Philippines.

Music Monday: "Waiting for Daylight" by a1

Okay, this Monday feature was over at my other blog which I'm thinking of migrating other things here since I don't know what possessed me to create another blog when I could have  used Wayfarer's Way when I re-started with the blogging wave. I initially thought I can separate my other interests but it seems that I can't. They spill over there too. Passages is my second blog while the Wayfarer's Way, was my original one.

Anyway, cut history blog trivia...One of my favorite bands came to the country last month after taking a loo-ng hiatus to venture on individual projects that led them to grow further in music. '"Waiting for Daylight" was the title track off their new album.
