Follow Friday (9)

Follow Friday is hosted by Rachel of Parajunkie.com and Alison of Alison Can Read  If you want to join in the fun just head over the blogs mentioned above and start checking out the various answer for today's question:

Q: In the light of 11.11.11 and Veteran's Day tell us about your favorite soldier and how he or she is saving the world. Fiction or real life.

This a bit hard.

My fave fictional solider back in my childhood days was Corporal Jennifer "Pilot" Chase of the Power Team. A former Dread Youth Leader, she joined Power's team to fight against Lord Dread who was intent in spreading the way of the Machine. A surprise attack led by a bio-mech Blastaar infiltrated the secret base with only Pilot caught unawares. Sadly, the automated self-destruct was bypassed and in order to prevent Dread from finding out the secrets kept by Power and his team, Pilot manually overrode the systems thus she sacrificed her life for the team (and sent a 10-yr old balling her eyes out).

Real life, last month a group of special forces soldiers were killed in a horrible skirmish down south of the country.  RIP

  5. @The Brunette Librarian haha yeah, it was then a kid show (hence the names) but with slightly heavy themes.

  6. @Chrissie (Once Upon a Series) Yep, Pilot was awesome. I think some snippets of the old show can by found in Youtube. Usually fans mashed it up with music. The clips can be grainy since this was back in the late '80s. Good show it had potential for second season if the toy factor wasn't integrated and well, other host of things that knocked the show eventually. Oh, well. It was a memorable season 1 run.
