With January nearing the end...belated Happy 2014! Hope January's been treating everyone just swell!
So after ending last year with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, I was quite unprepared and thrilled at the same time what the second installment brought. Yes, I refrained from checking the Production Notes from TheHobbitBlog.
There were a lot of things going on and the second movie did beg for several more viewings unfortunately, I was unable to go back to the cinema. So I'll be patiently waiting for the extended versions from both films to grace the video display stands here soon.
I'm not a heavy Tolkienite but I do appreciate Prof Tolkien's amazing Middle-Earth and whenever I stumble upon a book (as the one pictured above) I'm likely to buy it. So my last Sunday book loot was "The Art of The Hobbit" by J.R.R Tolkien. I haven't started reading it just browsed through the pages. It has a lot of the author's drawings and how he had already envisioned Shire and other notable places. When I have more time I'll take a couple of snapshots of what's inside.
Of course, while I was looking up a link for the "The Art of the Hobbit," this pops up and teases me.
With this resurgence of all things ME (Middle-Earth), it has made me unearth the magazines from the LOTR movies.

Must say The Hobbit 2 definitely warranted more than one viewing so i'm like you waiting for the extended editions to come out.... good collection you have here of all things Middle Earth
