Follow Friday (14)

I love the new FF meme image. :D

Follow Friday is hosted by Rachel of Parajunkie.com and Alison of Alison Can Read  If you want to join in the fun just head over the blogs mentioned above and start checking out the various answer for today's question:

Q: What's the craziest thing you've ever done to get your hands on any particular book?

Hmm, when Harry Potter series came out, I didn't buy the books at all then when the movies came tumbling out, months before the world wide release of "Prisoner of Azkahban" I bought the previous books just so I can get up to speed. I also blew all my SMS credits every month (usually I can make it last for three months) since I was texting my friend as we did our read-a-thons. Lolz. There were a lot of late nights and I was going to work the next day, dazed. hahaha.

The same thing happened when Lord of the Rings came out. All the Ringers  I've met recommended me to get a copy of the Silmarillon which would help me with the background of the Elves, Morgorth and other characters plus the succeeding tales such as the Book of Lost Tales 1 and 2, Children of Hurin    Tolkien mentioned so many place names in his books and for me to get those names stick in my head, I bought the Atlas of Middle-Earth. With the help of the atlas, I was understanding the routes and visualizing a bit clearly the passages I was reading. That was the second time, I realized how massive Prof Tolkien's imagination was and it just gave me goosebumps.

    1. Midnight lines are not known here or maybe it's just the city I'm in. Followed back and hope you like J.R.R Tolkien's books too.

    1. I've enjoyed Silma even if it had tons of info about the Elves and their history. It was hard for me to get a copy of that book here, I thought the store ran out of stock.
