Hmm, Books to read in a Day... I'm not pretty fast reader these days as I get to easily eye-strained but to choose it would be:
- Starfleet Academy series (J.J Abrams reboot universe) : The Delta Anomaly by Rick Barba, The Edge by Rudy Josephs, The Gemini Agent by Rick Barba. I really like this new series and I hope it will continue. The writing on all three books were very engaging and carry less technobabble I've expected when it came to writing the stories. Okay, it's possible because it was geared for YA audience but still, I've read the others especially from the Starfleet Academy: The Next Generation ones, and I remember my interest was jettisoned to the nearest airlock. :(
- Percy Jackson series, either of the books in the series will do. Fast pace, quirky chapter titles that always makes me roll off my seat laughing and ADVENTURE. :D
- Charmed: Leo Rising by Paul Ruditis - this book featured grown up Wyatt and Chris from the future for the first time and being a solid fan of the series since it aired, I was ecstatic that we'll get to see Halliwell brothers again. Sure we all hope for that SPIN-OFF to happen. :D
- Smallville: Temptation by Suzan Colon - Ah, forever Chlark-shipper but I love the series and TV show. A nice ending for Chloe especially for all she went through and I'm glad the TV writers took care of her. :D
- Jingle Boy by Kieran Scott - A funny, fluff Christmas tale that I like to read every Yuletide season.
- Behemoth by Scott Westerfield - A Steam punk read that I'm growing to like.
- The Dark is Rising series by Susan Copper - Arthur, Merlin connection and other mystery that wraps that world so what's not to like this one.
- Stargate: Atlantis Entanglement by Martha Wells or Reliquary :D So far my fave for having brought out all the characters as if I was watching the TV show itself.
- Masters of the Veil Trilogy by Daniel Cohen - What will a jock do when he found out he has magic powers? A fish out of water tale that gets me curious all the time.
- Star Wars: Young Jedi Knights: Heirs of the Force by Kevin Anderson and Rebecca Moesta - I wanted to be a Jedi Knight. :D
I often reaf a book in a day..some just grab me and won't let go..the last few were unearthly, shatter me and partials

DeleteI'm reading I am the Messenger right now, and there is something about YA that seems to drive me to read it in a day.

I am currently reading the first book in 'The Dark is Rising' series but I kind of stopped after about 50 pages because I was getting a bit bored- now you've mentioned Merlin I think I'm going to pick it up again!

I feel like I should get to reading the Charmed books! I have watched every episode of the TV series, but I've never tried the books.
ReplyDeleteAnd YES to the Percy Jackson series!! I absolutely loved it and they are definitely readable in a day!
I've got the first Percy Jackson book on my shelf right now! My sister told me I'd love it. I'm a big fan of middle grade. I'm glad it's good enough to read in one day! Makes me excited!

I need to catch up on the Percy Jackson series! I've only read the first two, but I really enjoyed them! I've seen every episode of Charmed and Smallville, but I've always been hesitant about picking up the tie-in books. I tried a few when I was younger but they never felt right to me, and a lot of times the character development seemed non-existent or off. Still, I did love it in Charmed when the adult boys traveled to the past! The episodes with the grown up Wyatt and Chris were some of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteYes yes and more yes to the Percy Jackson series! They're quick reads, but they're so much fun and filled with so much adventure it's impossible not to enjoy them and just eat it up so fast.
